Dont even bother

How do apps like this even make it here? It does not work at all. Asks you to click on a link o check hardware compatibility and then asks you to buy the version that works. what a complete waste of time and frustration! These types of developers do not deserve to be here!

"Data Recovery Guru” is damaged

Je narrive pas à lancer lapplication, pourtant je lai téléchargé plusieurs fois. Jai lerreur suivante : "Data Recovery Guru” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Data Recovery Guru” and download it again from the App Store. Avis : la note 1/5, juge le pb dinstallation, pas le logiciel.

Avoid at all costs!

it costs money to recover most filetypes, you cant recover files from your startup disk, just walk away.

unfortunaltly rather restricted ….

with the free version only very common file types could be recovered. E.g. RAW ist not possible. Use is easy

works very well under lion

Used it to recover my deleted files on an external disk 1T partition, after leaving it scan the disk over night the files I want back in fact show up. Made the in app purchase and recover these files. Hint: prepare another partition to put the recovered files, in stead of expecting the recovery files will just get "recovered" on the original disk.

Amazing Application!

This application has helped me out a lot. Ive tried finding various softwares that would restore all the data that got deleted out of my iPod randomly but none worked or they were extremely pricey. Although this app worked perfectly fine for myself. I highly reccomend this for anyone who needs to recover past files!!!!

scam

confusing and won’t do anything unless you purchase a different version.

ATTENTION.

Caution. The program is free but for recovering lost file, you have to pay when buying the full version. We do not know how much time to collect your accounts.

Absolutely Stunning

I was looking for something exactly like this. I deleted a folder which contained pictures of my recent vacation. I searched for every data recovery tool in the market, and this one did the job right away. I am so thankful to this. Downloaded it and got all my pictures and memories back. Will definitely recommend it.

Quick support

I had a bit of a problem registering the software but I received responses to my emails within minutes from the developer that completely fixed my problem. Now thats what I call service!

Great results, with a couple of major omissions

Data Recovery Guru seems to work as advertised, recovering every file I’ve thrown at it so far. However, there are a couple of glaring omissions in the product. Probably the biggest problem I have is that it is impossible to save search results. While the File menu does include both “Save” and “Save As…”, both are grayed out and thus do nothing. So why is this a problem? I am currently trying to recover data from an external drive that is no longer being used. Thus, no further changes will occur, and a saved scan would remain accurate indefinitely. The scan worked very well, but after waiting well over 24 hours for it to find all the deleted files on this 500GB drive, I had only recovered a few, when a squirmy nine-month-old helped me accidentally quit the app. There was no dialog, no warning; it simply quit, taking my scan with it. When I relaunched the app, the default screen returned and I had to start over from scratch, waiting another 24+ hours for it to produce the exact same results. In short, the app is very effective, but the lack of a “Save Results”—a feature found in many competing products—is a major oversight.

This is a Fail

My situation couldnt have been simpler and more aligned with the claims of this tool. I deleted an .mov on a sd card while on the camera. I Immediately realized my mistake. I took the sd card out of the camera without adding or deleting any files. I even knew the original file name. I ran Guru it found several files but named them with new names. The file sizes looked like the file I was looking for. They then extorted my $59.99…a price I would gladly pay for success. But it was a fail. Not one .mov file was an actual video. Each file that Guru saved to the recovery folder were black or random color blocks with no intelligible sound. So not only do I not have files but I do not have any notion as to whether or not the files it claimed to recover are the one I was looking for. This is a frustrating example of bait-and-switch. It is also a frustrating example of advertising false capabilities. The first could be cured by watermarking successfully recovered photos or giving a 5 second preview or stuttered preview of a successfully recovered video. The second is incurable. Obviously the only way to avoid this problem is to not be an idiot and delete things you want to keep. But who of us likes to feel the frustration of losing a really great memory and then being stiffed out of a ransom fee.

love it

This is a full version free app that does a better job at recovering then card rescue. With card rescue I was only able to recover the jpeg files that i lost and not the nef nikon raw files that I needed i was bummed but i tryed data guru befor i bought the license from data rescue and low and behold it does more then the 40 dollar apps do!!!

Waste of time

Cannot recover folders, flat files only. Makes hard to determine what is what.

Great App!

Computer illiterate and desperate (due to a huge data loss), I tried several recovery apps out before purchasing the guru. It worked smooth and quick. When I did hit a snag, again computer illiterate, the support was excellent: quick & competent! I highly recommend this app!

Not so good!

it is nice for finding little deleted files. But I deleted a big file just a couple of hours ago and this program could not see it.

Got the job done

While it cant recover every type of file it was able to recover the jpeg files from my SD card. Best part is that its free!

Free to find files, $60 to recover them.

What a joke.

Poor

Attempt to make easy money on people who in trouble. Not recovered my file.

Free to scan - $60 to recover anything.

I spent most of a day scanning and reviewing files until I found what I was looking for. Then I hit the recover button only to find that its $60 to actually recover the file. What a waste of time. Who knew that Microsoft Word was an uncommon file type...
