Data Recovery Druid App Reviews

Lame…

I left the system scanning over night. It found the files I needed… when I clicked on the recover button, it recovered about 20% of my files and then crashed… when I opened the application again, all the files were gone. So now I have to scan again? Lame…

No good

The free app does nothing. You will need to but the full app at $29 and then a RECOVER app if you want your files back. Not worth the time.

Says free pay then you have to pay an exorbitant amount to recover files found

Why not just sell it and be upfront?? Waste your time searching for files which takes a LONG time, then find you have to spend $60 to recover any files found? That is wrong to list it as free, no in app purchases, and you dont find out about the fee until youve wasted time to scan for files to recover. I feel thats dishonest. Those saying they can recover their data for free or its a full free app well its not true. there is a fee.

JPGs are Free

Its unfortunate that most reviewers here, dont read app notes and just think that all in the world is free. This app recovers main formats like JPGs or TIFFs for free. If you want more type files, you need an in-app purchase, which is quite normal these days. Its called Freemium. Basic operation is free and you get to know the app. Thanks Guru, and may the files be with you...

work a little

can not find the all delete files

Useless

You cant tell what this thing is doing. No indictation if it is working or not. Preferences are grayed out. This is supposed to give you peek at what it can do. So far… absolutely nothing. Waste of bandwidth to download this.

RIP OFF

This "Lite" Version says it will scan any "External;" HDD…. How funny it is that EVERY disk is somehow considered Internal and it will be Ever So Willing to help …If Only You PAY for the full version.

cannot scan external disks either

The description is upfront that it cant scan internal disks. Not a problem, that isnt what I was after anyway. Disk attached via firewire, it shows it (and the network mounted volumes) but not the internal drive. All as expected. Select the external drive, click recover and… it pops up an error that it cant scan internal disks. At least it is free...

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS TERRIBLE “PROGRAM"

The version downloaded from here does not work at all. You have to download from their website to even begin the frustration that is using Data Recovery Guru! Granted I have a rather large drive (external 2TB - USB 3.0) it takes somewhere between 10 and 18 hrs to scan. If you attempt to recover any files while it is still scanning it crashes, making you wait several more hours to try again. If you leave it on overnight and miraculously it finishes scanning, it may allow you to recover ‘some’ files, (if youre lucky) before crashing. I went through this process several times. This last time however I allowed it to complete scanning AGAIN and it now wont let me recover any files without spending $79 on the full version. Why I would want to spend 80 dollars on something that makes me want to smash my new macbook air OS 10.9 every time I use it is a puzzle! I have been trying for almost 2 weeks now to recover around 2 or 3 hundred picture files. I am feeling a huge relief now, at removing this terrible software from my computer. My advice is to just avoid!

Worst program ever

This program do nothing!

Huh?

Downloaded the trial version. It didn’t show all the disks I had mounted, only one; and when I clicked “Start Scan”, the only thing that seemed to happen is that the button changed to “Stop Scan”. No progress indicator, not 1 file showing up in the “list”, nothing. Left it a long time, then stopped and tried again; as far as I can tell it does nothing.

Doesnt Work, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

Doesnt find a single file, tried it on everything.

It does work quite well

Downloaded Apple Store version (Data Recovery Guru). I needed internal SSD and HD work. Downloaded Site version (Mac Data Recovery Guru). It worked. Registered it to facilitate recovery function. Clicked on Registry document in Download folder. App wouldn’t open. Deleted Apple store version using Launch Pad, Deleted Site version using Trash Can. Re-downloaded the Site version. It self-registered. It works. Proof it’s mine is my User Name and email shown on upper-right screen when App is running. Maybe the unfortunate reviews were computer/User problems. For me, it works fine. John E Avery Canon City, CO

Well Done

recovered EVERYTHING - Takes a moderately competent computer user, but if you know what your looking at its a fabulous app

Garbage

It wouldn’t scan an external drive. Told me it was an internal drive and I needed to fork over money if I wanted to scan the drive.

Fairly Good

I downloaded the app from app store. It scanned a lot of my deleted files and it finished after several hours. I was able to recover more than I expected. But along the way the window just suddenly stopped and its window just closed due to an unexpected error and to try to reopen again the window. When I reopened the window I was led back to the first window from which I have to start scanning all over again. Anyway, I am just glad that I was able to recover my most important files. Good job to those who created this app.

79 dollars to actually do anything?

It doesn’t even matter how well your app works - screw you.

Nope

Flat out didn’t work. Installed it and scanned with all the settings available, turns out there is absolutely nothing on the drive. Completely not true since some directories I can still access normally.

Most complete available in January 2016

After trying all of the “undelete” programs in Apple’s App store I decided to purchase the full version of this program because it is the only one capable of successfully recovering both JPG and Nikon raw (NEF) files. I like the preview feature that allows me to look at files before recovering them. The interface is intuitive although limited. More selection flexibility would be a huge aid. The hefty $100 price seems excessive to me, especially considering I will rarely use the application. I also resent the back-door sales tactic of placing a “free” download in the app store that then requires a download from another site. It has that sleazy “used car dealer” feel. One advantage of the app store is product review by Apple developers and this process circumvents the review process. Shame on Apple for allowing this.

absolutely crap. doesn’t list anything
